This season, the Juventas New Music Ensemble plans a series of unique multi-platform performances as we continue to champion new music by young composers. From a ballet collaboration examining the effect of the hacktivist group Anonymous, to an electro-acoustic solo performance by a core ensemble musician, to a new English-language opera based on a classic Italian folk tale, the 2013-2014 season promises to provide exciting opportunities for those who love new, contemporary classical music.
Next up! Our first Spotlight Series Concert of the season!
Nate Tucker, percussion
Dec 8 @ 5:30 PM, The Lilypad, Cambridge
Core Percussionist Nate Tucker will perform Le Corps a Corps by Georges Aperghis. and a drum set solo by Frank Zappa. Say Tucker: "The Zappa solo was considered impossible when first composed with insane polyrhythms over a steady, incredibly slow ostinato played by the left foot throughout."
