Music of the Future

Juventas New Music Ensemble voices the musical culture of the future by performing works by young, living composers.  Most early-career composers struggle to find the necessary opportunities to spring forward into the professional field after the completion of their studies.  They seek professional performances of their works, but these are difficult to gain without an existing list of high-level performances and examples of recordings with musicians of the highest caliber.

Juventas is unique in its focus specifically towards nurturing and encouraging the music-making of the most promising emerging composers.

We furthermore ensure an unparalleled experience for our audience members by selecting new music of the highest possible caliber through commissions and our highly competitive call for scores, creating multi-disciplinary, multi-media, interactive programsFrom full operas, to ballets, chamber pieces and electro-acoustic works, Juventas presents one-of-a-kind performances for those who love new music.  Along the way we reach across boundaries, joining with dancers, painters, scientists, poets, visual artists, political activists, and even puppeteers to create artistic experiences that present music in new and unusual ways.

Join us for music that celebrates today - and tomorrow.

Juventas is a two-time American Prize winner in Professional Opera Performance (2012, 2014), and winner of the National Opera Association Award for Best Professional Production in 2011. In addition to our productions and concert performances, Juventas works regularly with student composers and has held long and short-term residencies at a number of educational institutions, including The Boston Conservatory, Middlebury College, and Harvard University. We have also had a large number of collaborations on large-scale recording projects, including CD releases with New Dynamic Records, Parma Records, Innova Recordings, and more.

"Despite classical and opera music being their main focus, Juventas keeps an open mind, with expressed interest in pop and rock experimentation. With bold presentation and varied performance venues, Juventas is an excellent advocate for the young composer."
