World-Class Gambaist Andrew Arceci added to September concerts!  

Join Juventas New Music Ensemble on September 19 & 20 as we present the latest in our chamber music series: EMERGE: New Music and Its Origins – featuring three premieres, renowned flutist Carol Wincenc, and Andrew Arceci on Viola da Gamba.  The upcoming concerts present music influenced by traditional styles, played with unique mixes of contemporary and period instrumentation. 

 One of the world’s top flutists – Carol Wincenc  –will perform two pieces, including one newly written for her.  World-class gambaist Andrew Arceci will play the rarely heard Viola da Gamba for his own work.  Arceci has extensive performance dates upcoming this season in Asia, the US and Europe.

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

Su Lian Tan: 
Autumn Lute Song (for flute and strings, Boston premiere)

Andrew Arceci: 
Suite II in G Minor (for Viola da Gamba, percussion and strings)

Mary Montgomery Koppel: 
Summer Palette (for two flutes, world premiere)

Jonathan Blumhofer:
Semper Dowland, semper dolens (for string orchestra, world premiere)

Juventas' 2013 opera, The Magic Mirror (Polina Nazaykinskaya), is a Finalist for The American Prize in Opera Performance!  

Congratulations to everyone involved in the production -- Artistic Director and Conductor Lidiya Yankovsksaya, Resident Stage Director and Juventas Co-Founder Erin Huelskamp and the amazing cast and production team!

The Magic Mirror premiered in April 2013 at the Boston Center for the Arts and was invited to the 2013 NYC Fringe Festival, where it played five performances to packed, enthusiastic audiences and great reviews.

Composer Peter Van Zandt Lane's HackPolitik ballet - commissioned and premiered by Juventas - is a finalist for The American Prize in Composition!  Congratulations Peter, conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya and all players of the Ensemble.

Juventas New Music Ensemble, which takes its
