Music of the Future

Juventas New Music Ensemble voices the musical culture of the future by performing works by young, living composers. From full operas, to ballets, chamber pieces and electro-acoustic works, Juventas presents one-of-a-kind performances for those who love new music.  Along the way we reach across boundaries, joining with everyone from dancers, to painters, to puppeteers to create artistic experiences that present music in new ways.   Join us for music that celebrates today - and tomorrow.

Juventas is a two-time American Prize winner in Professional Opera Performance (2012, 2014), and winner of the National Opera Association Award for Best Professional Production in 2011. In addition to our productions and concert performances, Juventas works regularly with student composers and has held long and short-term residencies at a number of educational institutions, including The Boston Conservatory, Middlebury College, and Harvard University.

To learn more about the various ways to help Juventas continue with its work:

"Despite classical and opera music being their main focus, Juventas keeps an open mind, with expressed interest in pop and rock experimentation. With bold presentation and varied performance venues, Juventas is an excellent advocate for the young composer."
 -- Performer Magazine, March 2012.

Juventas New Music Ensemble, which takes its
name from the Latin term for "youth," voices the musical culture of the present by featuring new works by young, living composers.

Now with more than 90 exhilarating performances under our belt (from 150 composers!), our 2015-2016 season includes the release of our latest album, a world premiere opera, and our Spotlight Series featuring core instrumentalists!
