Five years later:
About the Program
This Boston Marathon weekend, join Juventas New Music Ensemble for an evening of music by living composers to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Five Years Later: Songs of Hope & Resilience draws together eight works from an international call for scores, exploring terrorism, loss, and healing through a global lens. The program promotes conversation and reflection on the 2013 tragedy in Boston and similar events around the world.
For the program's finale, Juventas musicians are joined by student choreographers and dancers from Boston Conservatory at Berklee. In his debut concert as the ensemble’s Artistic Director, Oliver Caplan described his inspiration for the cross-disciplinary partnership:
“A marathon is all about movement, and the bombing stopped that motion across the city. What better way to celebrate our city's resiliency than through dance, the art of motion?"
