Juventas New Music Ensemble is proud to present the world premiere fully-staged performance of Ketty Nez’s newest opera. Based on folk tale, The Fiddler and the Old Woman of Rumelia tells the story of a spry fortune-telling Roma, a dashing, murderous outlaw and their meetings with local villagers of the Rumelian hinterlands. Through their interactions and songs, surprising stories of the past and future are heard, peppered with characters from another time and faraway places.
