semi-annual call for scores:
Deadline: may 1
Music written by composers age 35 or under on January 1 of the present year.
Compositions may be for any instrumentation or length. However, preference for programming in the 2016-2017 season will be given to works that draw from the Juventas core instrumentation (any combination): flute (including piccolo & alto flute), clarinet (including Eb, Bb, and bass clarinet), violin, viola, cello, percussion, piano.
For the upcoming season(s), we are especially interested in:
-Works that combine a film or a section of film (films can be original films, or clips from well established films) in innovative ways
-Works that combine music with circus arts in creative ways
-Solo and duo works for any Juventas core instrument, for our Spotlight series
-Opera scenes or full-length opera for our unMET performances and annual opera project
At least one composer may win the opportunity to have their work programmed in the 2016-2017 season. Others will be considered for future performance, including programming for the 2017-2018 season. Juventas reserves the right to choose no winner if an entry of sufficient quality is not found.
A recording is NOT required.
